Society of Beer Drinking Ladies

Ladies

An elite group, known as The Society of Beer Drinking Ladies, for the past eight years has thrown raucous and rave events in the Toronto, Ontario area. But now, they’re finally opening a new permanent space for their very own calling the establishment “Society Clubhouse” where women of all walks can gather to drink fine craft beer.

The ladies have apparently set their sights a bit further afield and are ‘craft’-ing the space as one for wellness classes also, covering subject matter such as dance, movement, pilates, and even theater. It will also provide a home for events such as “markets, weddings, beer yoga, parent/child drop-ins, open mics, comedy, and live acoustic music.” according to blogTO.

“I’m a new mom and these casual meet-ups over a pint and a snack are so great to meet people, get out of the house,” Society of Beer Drinking Ladies co-founder Erica Campbell tells blogTO.

Meet The Society of Beer Drinking Ladies

On their website, the group explains,

“The Society of Beer Drinking Ladies began by 5 women in early 2014, determined to shake up the male-dominated beer industry by hosting secret ‘bevy’ events for women to hang out and enjoy beer. Fast forward to present day, the SOBDL is now owned and operated by 2 of the original co-founders – Erica Campbell and Jaime Dobbs – and is the largest women & beer organization in North America. We have seasonal beers at the LCBO, frequent small batch collab brews, our Mystery Box program, a full merch line at shop.ladiesdrinkbeer.com and a cider coming to LCBO this Spring! When it’s safe to do so, we’ll get right back at it too hosting our Lady Beer Fests, bevies, beer dinners and beer launch parties in Ottawa, Toronto and Hamilton. We miss you!”

It’s great for them to finally have what Campbell calls a “home base.” The ladies expect to have a collaborated beer from Henderson on tap as well as cider they developed with Niagara Cider. Of course, coffee and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available from their in-house Cafe’. The new site for the Beer Drinking Ladies a 3,400 square foot space in the heart of Toronto is expected to open up in April 2022.
