Butter Swim Biscuits

Deliciously buttery biscuits that are simple to make.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 4 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  • In a medium sized bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  • Add in buttermilk, mix thoroughly until a moist dough is formed.
  • Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Pour it into an 8x8 or 9x9 baking dish (one that is deep enough to prevent the butter from spilling out after adding biscuit dough).
  • Place the dough in the pan on top of the melted butter. Use a spatula to carefully spread it evenly across the pan until it touches the sides.
  • Cut the dough into nine even-sized pieces.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
  • Serve with jelly, jam, or just plain. Enjoy!
