FREE THE NIPS: National NO BRA Day, AND ITS TIME TO CELEBRATE [PHOTOS]

Today is a very special day and you may want to go out and hit the mall and celebrate. Or, just to see the sights. October 13 is national “No Bra Day.” Women are freeing their nips to attract attention and raise money for a good cause.

No bra bonanza

Here at Whiskey & Babes we wouldn’t be in business if there weren’t any boobs around. That’s why we’re fully behind the effort to raise awareness about breast cancer. Women in general have been thankful that Covid has given them a chance to ease the restrictions of office garb enough to go casually unfettered at home, but on one day a year, the particularly adventurous babes rip off their bra and flaunt their assets in public.

Go ahead and look, you know you want to. Show some appreciation with a donation to the Cancer Society while you’re at it. That’s a true win-win situation.

No Bra Day has been a popular celebration since 2011 but the first time around it was on July 9.

The date was moved to October 13 and stuck there because it sits right in the middle of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. “BRA Day” was the brainchild of Canadian plastic surgeon Dr. Mitchell Brown.

Even though breast removal mastectomies are incredibly traumatic for the women forced to undergo them, they remain hesitant to have the re-constructive surgery. Dr. Brown “wanted to encourage breast cancer survivors” to at least consider the option.

A specially padded and constructed bra can do wonders for self-esteem in public but the women forced to deal with the reality still find themselves lacking in ways they never imagined before they had the surgery.

Breast Reconstruction Awareness

Brown founded Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day at Women’s College Hospital and Toronto General Hospital.

It was originally intended to “raise awareness of breast cancer screening, alert women to breast cancer symptoms, and to encourage women to conduct regular self examinations.” It started getting really popular when it became “No Bra Day” in 2012.

Women who chose to participate “share photos of them wearing no bras all over the social platforms.” For instance in 2017, more than “82,000 women posted pictures on Twitter and Instagram” without a bra on.

The photos seen here are only representational, they aren’t this year’s contributions.

While their at it, some cancer survivors post their post surgical boobless photos to “encourage others to get tested and donate to breast cancer research foundations.”

You may not like wearing that bra until you no longer have a need for one. Then things get psychologically difficult.
