Following employee outrage, Hooters learned their lesson recently and the restaurant chain was smart enough to reverse their heavy handed mandate. Crotch string uniform shorts are now optional but they’re still heavily encouraged. Some of the servers really like the new look.
Hooters spreading skin
National restaurant chain Hooters isn’t popular because of their food. They get the business by hiring their world famous “busty waitresses.” Since the company opened, those same women who flaunted their cleavage for fun and profit were complimented by a pair of orange short-shorts.
“The new editions cover most girls’ upper buttocks and only offer what some discontented employees have referred to as a ‘crotch string,’ which resembles a thong-cut panty.”
The corporate executives made the mistake of changing the decoration scheme without consulting the girls first. It wouldn’t have been so bad if it wasn’t a mandate to accept the new uniform or find another job. The iconic orange shorts were tiny but didn’t “give customers full view.”
They “offered Hooters girls a few more inches of coverage around their backsides.” Server Kristen Songer points out that there’s “no longer anything covered by these shorts.” The South Carolina School of Medicine student made a video in protest declaring “Oh look, a wedgie!” She didn’t sign up for those.
“This is why all the Hooters girls are upset — because this is not what I agreed to wear a year ago when I was hired.” The company listened and quickly backed down.
“As we continue to listen and update the image of the Hooters Girls, we are clarifying that they have the option to choose from traditional uniforms or the new ones.” The individuals can “determine which style of shorts best fits their body style and personal image.”
Social media revolution
The policy reversal came after several of the affected Hooters girls took to social media to vent their frustrations with the change. Giselle Nguyen of Texas held up her pair for the camera.
“I know it ain’t my new uniform shorts,” she complained “What’s that supposed to fit?” Without hinting how they feel about the change, Alabama waitresses Easten Brewer and Katherine Nicole acknowledge “This s–t is rated porn.”
After a chance to field test the new outfit, “a handful of the poultry bar’s beauties are fond of their uniform’s new look.” Staffer Amanda admits “I actually like the new shorts.”
Another employee, Lexius, agrees they’re “really not that bad.” The company is glad to hear it. They “hope this change would create excitement with all of our current Hooters Girls.”
They understand now that “this may be a change that may not suit your personal preference” and they’re really glad to hear that not all the girls are against the idea. The past two years have been really rough on the hospitality industry and they need every edge they can get to boost business.
One Hooters waitress who goes by “jazzzzzzzzzz.y” on her TikTok account will be opting in on the new uniform choice. The reason for her is purely economic. “I’ve been making way more money with the new shorts,” she declares.
