No matter what age, I think we can all agree that the concept of fantasy and fairytales can peak the interest of quite a few people.
Going past the realm of reality, creativity and ideas can really wander…
This has helped to create some amazing art in the form of movies, TV shows, novels, video games, and photography.
And one such artist whose passion is to bring fantasy to life is Marije Dijkema, a Dutch photographer.
Dijkema explains that she became interested in fantasy and fairytale photography in her final year of media college, when she stumbled upon a festival called ‘Elfia.’
The beautiful costumes people would wear as well as the atmosphere of the festival really drew her in…
She found it fascinating to capture the moments when people would be in their own world, living a different life.
Marije is now living her own fairytale, by ensuring that “everything is possible in my photos.”
