If you’re searching for a European destination for your next vacation, look no further than this stunning island in the Netherlands. It’s reported that this place is perfect for both animal lovers and beer lovers, so let’s check out the island of Texel.

The United Kingdom is a great place for tourists to visit due to its many beautiful islands, but what most people don’t know is that the Netherlands also has some amazing islands. One of the largest Dutch islands, Texel, is relatively unknown by Brits and should be on your radar if you’re looking for an exciting vacation destination.

Texel is located less than an hour from the UK and its size makes it quite small; it’s 5.5 miles wide and 15.5 miles long with only about 13,500 locals living there. The unofficial capital of the island is Den Burgh which has a quaint charm with shops and cafes that take you back in time.

Foodies won’t want to miss out on trying out Texels sheep cheese which can get very expensive – one sheep even sold for 367k. If you’re looking for something different, you can experience a Texel woolbath spa where you are wrapped in sheep’s wool for half an hour.

You can also check out the local beers at the Texelse bierbrouwerij or take in some breathtaking views at Eierland Lighthouse located in the north of the island, accessible via 150 steps up.

One of the main attractions on this island are its beaches – there are 18 miles of sandy beaches around its coastline with De Koof being one of themost popular destinations amongst tourists due to its white sand and beach huts that offer shelter from sea breeze when needed.

Not only this but some beaches allow dogs all year round so no need to leave your furry friend behind.
