Salma Hayek stunned the onlookers on the red carpet at the 2022 BAFTA Awards, dressed in a dark purple low-cut gothic style gown with lace inserts.
Hayek wore the plum-hued velvet long-sleeved column gown with a slit detail and black lace inserts, which was custom made by Gucci, to the 75th British Academy Film Awards on March 13th, 2022, and nearly avoided a wardrobe malfunction during the event.
Luckily, Salma kept her cool about the red carpet mishap.
The House of Gucci actress, 55, looked back at the moment from the BAFTA Awards with a cheeky Instagram post on March 15th.
In the pair of side-by-side photos Hayek shared of herself posing on the red carpet in the jaw-dropping velvet Gucci gown, the wind picked up the skirt of her dress, which revealed the black lace hidden underneath.
In the second photo posted in the pair, the actress leans down to fix her skirt and adjust the slit, which ends up showing off more of the lace trim that decorates the neckline of her dress — and shows more of her chest — in the process.
“Sometimes in an effort to cover something other things show up more,” she joked in the caption, tagging Gucci and the BAFTA Awards in the post.
Hayek’s movie, House of Gucci, was nominated at this year’s BAFTA Awards in the Outstanding British Film category, going up against After Love, Ali & Ava, Boiling Point, Cyrano, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Last Night in Soho, No Time to Die, Passing, and Belfast, which won the award.
