Not the most popular species since it’s not a species that doesn’t have tournaments throughout the year. The white bass can be fun to fish for.
Our country is dedicated to bass.
But these small members of the temperate bass household called Moronidae (which includes striped bass, yellow bass, identified sea bass, and white perch) appear to be primarily neglected by the fishing public.
Yet the white bass is an aggressive, hard-fighting, and commonly distributed species that can be discovered in lakes, rivers, and streams throughout the country,
Called whiteys, sand bass, silver bass, and stripers, white bass are a small fish, with most specimens varying from 12- to 18-inches long and weighing around 1 to 2 pounds, though some can grow to weigh more than 5 pounds.

This might be why they appear so overlooked by anglers who are used to fishing the shallows and around structures in pursuit of more popular types like largemouth, crappie, perch, and bluegill.
White bass can supply anglers with some of their best days on the water. Unlike more popular species, whitey’s can be caught regularly throughout the year, offering wonderful fishing from the heat of summertime to the dark of winter season.
