
Bourbon Grapefruit Punch
Ingredients
Mint Simple Syrup
- 2/3 cup water
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 10 fresh mint sprigs plus extra for garnish
Ice Ring
- 1 large pink grapefruit
Punch
- 8 cups pink grapefruit juice
- 5 cups bourbon
- 20 dashes angostura bitters
- 2 cups club soda
Instructions
Mint Simple Syrup
- Stir the water and sugar in a small saucepan over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Increase the heat and bring to boil. Remove from the heat, add 10 of the mint sprigs and let cool completely
Ice Ring
- Pour a layer of water into the tube pan and freeze
- Slice the grapefruit into 1/4" rings before cutting the rings into wedges
- Place some of the wedges onto the frozen layer of water. Pour enough water in to cover and freeze again. Repeat layering with more of the grapefruit and water until the pan is full. Keep frozen till ready to use
Punch
- Strain the syrup into a punch bowl. Add the juice, bourbon, bitters and club soda, and stir to combine. Place the ice ring in the center and add a few mint sprigs for garnish
