Check Out What Dana White is Saying About Joe Rogan

Rogan

There are a couple of names that are absolutely synonymous with MMA fighting in general and the UFC in particular, one of those names is Dana White, UFC’s President, another is Fmr. MMA fighter and comedian turned color-commentator and podcast legend Joe Rogan. Rogan through the years has maintained a role in lesser degrees than in the past with UFC but has remained a consistent, supportive presence.

Due to his demanding schedule hosting The Joe Rogan Experience, he prefers to remain stateside only offering his commentary from the broadcaster’s booth for Pay-per-view events here in the U.S. leading to critics questioning the quality of Joe’s in-the-booth work lately.  But apparently White has finally had it with critics who deride Rogan for his modified role with UFC and he’s come out swinging as one would expect from the bombastic Executive.

White silenced all doubt of Rogans critical and ongoing role when he extolled his virtues and sought his advice for handling his own bout with COVID this December.

Respect For Rogan From UFC Pres. Dana White

White told “The FIGHT with Teddy Atlas” that besides the Gracie family Rogan helped inform and educate the viewing public about MMA and UFC from an in-ring perspective according to MMAJunkie.

“Another guy who deserves a ton of credit for helping build this sport during our era is Joe Rogan,” White said

The reality is that when we got into this, everybody understood standup fighting no matter what happened. Punching, kicking, elbows – we all get that. The big thing for us was when it goes to the ground, how may people are really going to understand what’s going on and what they’re seeing?

“Because if you’ve never done jiu-jitsu, you don’t know what the hell they’re doing. … Joe Rogan was, first of all, passionate about the sport, No. 1, (and) No. 2, so good at walking you through what was going on before it even started to happen. To have a guy like him behind the mic, he was very instrumental in helping build the sport.”

In a world filled with ingratitude, self-aggrandizement, and cowardice, it’s refreshing to see men like Dana White who have the courage to defy convention and recognize a peer’s contributions and achievements even when they’re a target for the ire of many.
