Romeo y Julieta is really showing its envy– at the very least according to Altadis U.S.A. The latest release (as well as color) of the renowned brand name, Romeo y Julieta Envy is a limited-edition stogie made by the Plasencia household in Nicaragua. It’s a follow-up to in 2015’s Romeo y Julieta Eternal and ought to ship to retailers in December.

Made up of only Nicaraguan tobacco, Envy can be found in one size called Amulet ($ 17.50), it measures 6 inches by 55 ring scale, and is packaged in glossy environment-friendly 11-count boxes. The wrapper is a high-priming leaf grown in the Jalapa area that, according to Altadis, has more age than wrappers generally found on Romeo y Julieta stogies.
The secondary band shows the evil eye, a sign or amulet used to prevent any type of jealous impulse.
“The eye amulet – an ancient symbol – will keep the bad energy away,” according to the makers of Romeo y Julieta Envy. “The symbol is also included on the cigar band making the cigar your own personal amulet.”
“Love has its shadows,” says the loose published sheet included within each box.

Just 100,000 cigars are being crafted, which amounts to about 10,000 boxes.

These flavors are followed by a clean natural sweetness that gives way to a sublime buttery finish.”
“This blend was in the making for quite some time because we knew the aging process would bring out amazing notes from these Nicaraguan tobaccos,” says Rafael Nodal, Head of Product Capability. “Once perfectly aged, the rest was a matter of finding the ideal size to capture and display them to the fullest! So here it is, this cigar is absolutely fantastic!” Romeo y Julieta Envy begins shipping in December.
