Working in a Sex Club has it’s ups and downs, admits one female staffer at an underground club in Manhattan, New York. Her position is a respectable one. She could tend bar anywhere but the money from serving drinks in a “secretive den of iniquity” makes up for some of the more unusual things her job entails.
Sex in the big city
Before she became the bartender in a sex club, Ms. X tried her luck as a porn star. After that experience, the Manhattan nightclub’s not a huge shock. She doesn’t need to get involved, just keep everyone liquored up. Unless she wants to.
There’s no way to avoid the club’s unconventional activities but some of their clients are more unconventional than others.
She has a few naughty secrets to tell and doesn’t mind sharing them, as long as no names are mentioned. One of the reasons is because the private low-key sex club happens to be popular with the NYPD.
There’s also a really good reason why they have so many buff and “beefy” security guards. That’s because they have more than one way to guard a body and will do just about anything for cash.
Discretely located “amid the skyscrapers of Midtown” there’s one big policy of the private and totally illicit sex club which sets it apart from others of similar variety. They don’t insist on “couples-and-women-only atmosphere.”
The owners of her place are too greedy to care and the clients have generally managed to find ways of coping. That’s the part which makes an otherwise easy job into a challenge for Ms. X.
A relative free-for-all
Things tend to get pretty “raunchy” there and “allowing any single men who can find their way to the club to enter for a fee” doesn’t help. She chuckles to see how popular they are with law enforcement.
“It’s funny, because, they’ll let people in knowing that they’re cops. The owner’s like, ‘They provide so much business because they tell their other cop friends they can come here and have a good time.‘” Cops like sex.
Ms. X understands completely that her job isn’t just to pour drinks. She mostly serves as topless “eye candy.” To skate around local liquor laws, customers bring their own alcohol but staff mix and serve it.
So many men proposition her for sex that it’s become annoying but she’s realistic enough to know it’s never going to stop. Things get really bad when “it’s only dudes in the building the entire night.” Sometimes, “clients will stand next to her at the bar and pleasure themselves.” They better leave a tip, too.
It’s not unusual for customers to be having sex at the bar while looking at her and talking to her at the same time. If she wants to join in, she can take a “15-minute break to indulge — although she rarely does.” It depends on the offer and the offeree. Security guards get lucky “every shift, basically.”
They “have these kind of like beefed up, cute security guards. So all the women who come in are like, ‘Ooh, the security!‘” Tending bar there may have it’s drawbacks but there are worse jobs. “the sex club is equipped with erotic art on the walls, mattresses strewn about the space and a ‘porter,‘ or someone who cleans up the messes left behind.“
