TV personality, fashion designer, and actress Nicole Richie had a serious birthday blunder when she caught fire in the middle of her celebration.
Nicole Richie was in the middle of blowing out the candles on her birthday cake, when disaster struck.
TMZ puts it perfectly, writing: “Nicole Richie is probably wishing for a fire extinguisher on her 40th birthday … because her hair was set ablaze during her birthday dinner.”
Richie shared a video of the incident online, and it quickly went viral. As she blew out the first few candles, everything was going fine, until a few strands of hair fell into the flame on the last candle.

In the video, it looks like strands of hair on both sides of her head caught fire at almost the same time, but a person sitting next to her quickly put out the fire on one side.
However, the other side was still on fire, and Nicole began to scream as the flames spread. The video cuts off at that point, leaving many people asking how much damage the fire was able to do before it was put out.
