There’s no denying that the blazing hot models that used to walk the track at Formula 1, known as “grid girls,” were a major part of the events, adding excitement and something extra to look at while you wait for the races to begin.
Unfortunately, starting in the 2018 World Championship season, the iconic grid girls were cancelled due to being “at odds with modern day societal norms,” according to Sean Bratches, who was managing director of commercial operations at Formula 1 at the time the decision was made.
So, with no new grid girls coming any time soon, let’s take a look back at some of the hottest models to ever walk the track.
Kelly Brook
British model, actress, and media personality Kelly Brook, born Kelly Ann Parsons, was one of many grid girls over the years. The former Playboy model is also known for her role on the NBC sitcom One Big Happy.
Here’s a picture of her from 1998 posing as a grid girl at the British Formula 1 Grand Prix at Silverstone:

Katie Price
Katrina Amy Alexandra Alexis Price, who was previously known only by the pseudonym Jordan, is a British media personality, model and businesswoman. She began her career as a page 3 model in the newspaper The Sun.
According to Wikipedia, “Page 3 was a British newspaper tradition of publishing a large image of a topless female glamour model on the third page of mainstream red-top tabloids.”
In the late 1990s, Price became a grid girl, working at the Spanish Grand Prix in 1998, which acted as a spring board to help her build her own brand. Following that success, she went on to write several books, release a perfume, and start a clothing brand, among many other business ventures.
Keeley Hazell
English model and actress Keeley Hazell’s modelling career began at just 17 years old when she won the Daily Star’s “Search for a Beach Babe” competition. She later topped that achievement by winning The Sun’s ‘Page 3 Idol’ competition.
Hazell appeared as an F1 grid girl at the 2006 British Grand Prix, where she was helping to promote the new F1 ’06 computer game on the PlayStation 2.
Bárbara Amérigo
Bárbara Amérigo appeared at the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix, and was one of the most popular models working the F1 grids over the past couple of seasons.
Susie Wolff
Taking a step back from grid girls, Susie Wolff proved that gorgeous women didn’t need to just stand around at Formula 1 events. At the 2014 British Grand Prix, the former Williams test driver and Mercedes ambassador became the first woman in 22 years to race at an F1 weekend.
Song Jina
Song Jina is one of a few Asian models who have had a large impact on the F1 grid girl circuit.
A lot of her current work revolves around modeling at racing events such as the CGO Super Race, Daegu Motor Show, and Gwangju Motor Show.
