Drew Estate’s 2022 Liga Privada Unico Serie Year of the Rat has returned! The limited-edition cigars were showcased throughout Drew Estate’s “Freestyle Live: Scandal sheet” broadcast, on May 12 on the company’s Facebook Live page (facebook.com/drewestatecigar) and YouTube channel (youtube.com/drewestatecigar). Year of the Rat cigars became available at Drew Diplomat Program partners starting on June 15.

Liga Privada Unico Serie Year of the Rat first appeared in 2016 to honor the 20th Anniversary of the Florida Panthers’ only National Hockey League Stanley Cup Finals appearance. Throughout the Panthers’ run to the Finals, the group’s Scott Mellanby removed a rat in the locker room prior to scoring 2 goals in the game. Mellanby’s achievement was a “Rat Trick,” and fans rapidly started tossing rubber rats onto the ice whenever the group scored. Offered exclusively at the Drew Estate Lounge inside the Panther’s BB&T Center, Liga Privada Unico Serie Year of the Rat attained bigger popularity starting in 2020 when it was re-released as a Drew Diplomat Program celebration unique stogie. Since 2021, the output of Year of the Rat cigars has actually widened to all Drew Diplomat Program members.

The Year of the Rat (5 1/2 x 46, Corona Gorda) is used a luscious Connecticut Broadleaf capa, a Brazilian capote, and Honduran and Nicaraguan tripa tobaccos. And includes Liga Privada Unico Serie’s renowned fantail head, each Year of the Rat cigar is individually covered in gold foil and put into a magnificently embossed blue 10-count Liga Privada Unico box.

“With music sometimes a brand-new song comes out and you resemble, ‘Yo, hit rewind,’ and your homies are pissed ’cause you made ’em play it three times,” says Drew Estate Creator and President, Jonathan Drew. “It’s a testimony to a correct beat, the lyrics, the complete-ness … well very same thing for Year of the Rat … so today we hittin’ the rewind button … like Chuck D, we’re bringin’ that beat back.”

The 2022 Liga Privada Unico Series is being distributed exclusively to Drew Diplomat Program partners which began on June 15. The limited-edition stogies’ MSRP are $17.12 per cigar/$171.20 per box. This is not a cigar to miss.
