Is it really a Lamborghini Countach under that tarp? When a woman passed away, her granddaughter got the job of inventorying the estate. People stash all sorts of things in the garage, from old newspapers, to bottles, records and classic Barbie Dolls, just waiting to be discovered by the right collector. For one Reddit poster finding an Italian supercar was only the first shock. She realized she had no idea who her granny was.
Lamborghini Countach 500S
Any male who was around in the 1980’s remembers the classic Lamborghini Countach posters and maybe had one of their own. Even people who don’t pay a lot of attention to cars notice this one. It’s a guaranteed head turner. Nobody wants to wind up a relative’s affairs but going through the garage is one of the necessary tasks when the need arises.
The anonymous Reddit poster had been in that garage before and never had a clue of what was under all the tarps, covered by boxes and clutter.
The grieving executrix had no idea her beloved grandmother ever “felt the need for speed.” She explains that “she had visited the house many times and been in the garage, the Lamborghini was covered with tarps and had boxes stacked on top, so it was entirely hidden from view.”
Shocked when she made the discovery, the woman instantly posted a photo of the Countach on Reddit. She got an even bigger surprise when the comments started coming back. She had no idea what was lurking in the background of the image.
She missed the other two
The granddaughter was so amazed by her discovery of the Countach that she didn’t even bother to look at what else was in granny’s garage. Fans of classic sports cars instantly recognized two more gems. Also parked in the garage is a red Ferrari 308.
It may not be as impressive as the Lamborghini but it’s still highly in demand by collectors. Back in the corner sits a pre-War MG. That’s another “impressive collectible car.”
What she found was so totally out of sync with her memories of grandma that she had to do some investigating. The mystery was solved when she found out that her grandfather “used to run an exotic car rental service in the late 1980s.”
The Countach and the rest all belonged to him. “Thanks to insurance rates skyrocketing, the business was no longer viable, but the man couldn’t bear to part with the cars. Some were later sold, but these three remained.” She inherited them.
