What comes to mind when you think of a theme park? Perhaps rides, carnival games, and various fried food stands? Well, while these are all essential elements, there is one that goes far beyond what we traditionally see as a theme park.

In Romania lies a unique salt mine deep underground with its own theme park – Salina Turda.

Salina Turda is an incredible salt mine located in Transylvania, Romania. It was first mined back in 1271 and has since been transformed into a spectacular tourist attraction.

The area stretches 120 meters below ground level and contains many attractions for visitors such as a 20m panoramic wheel, mini-golf course for both children and adults, table tennis tables, billiards tables, playgrounds with slides and basketball hoops for kids to enjoy.

There’s also a boat ride on the Theresa Mine lake for guests to take part in! With 180 heated seats set up throughout an amphitheater inside the mine itself; it’s no wonder why this destination attracts hundreds of thousands of people every year from all over the world.

Apart from being able to experience different activities within this salt mine; there are additional benefits associated with visiting this particular spot in Romania too. Many believe that spending time inside this humid microclimate can help alleviate symptoms related to asthma or hay fever as well as some skin conditions due to its salty air content.

Who would have thought that something so natural could also be beneficial for our health?

If you’re looking for something even more unusual than Salina Turda then you’re in luck. Germany has their own nuclear reactor themed park where visitors get transported through different exhibits about energy production while riding roller coasters around it too.

Closer to home there are plenty more weird places worth exploring like Verruckt water slide at Kansas City which holds the record title of being tallest waterslide ever made…are you brave enough to take on this challenge?
