Blackberry Vodka Sour

This recipe takes a classic vodka sour and makes it a touch sweeter with blackberry syrup

Ingredients
  

Blackberry simple syrup

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup blackberries fresh or frozen

Blackberry vodka sour

  • 2 oz vodka of choice
  • 3/4 oz lemon juice
  • 3/4 oz blackberry simple syrup
  • 1 egg white pasteurized, optional
  • 2 blackberries to garnish

Instructions
 

Blackberry simple syrup

  • Combine the sugar and water in a small pot over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has dissolved in the water. Be sure to not allow mixture to boil
  • Add the blackberries and cook for a minute or so. Turn off the heat and let the syrup cool to room temperature
  • Strain the syrup into a glass jar

Blackberry vodka sour

  • Combine the vodka, lemon juice, ¾ ounce of blackberry simple syrup, and the egg white in a cocktail shaker without ice, and shake
  • Add a handful of ice to the shaker and shake again for 5 seconds
  • Strain into a glass and top with blackberries
