GARRISON BROTHERS DROPS LIMITED EDITION COWBOY BOURBON

GARRISON

Garrison Brothers Whiskey, who have captured our attention before with their famous HoneyDew Whiskey have set the stage again with their seventh release of their legendary Cowboy Bourbon. According to Garrison Brother’s Master Distiller Donnis Todd, cars lined up at the distillery for more than a day to line up for the 131.3 proof juice. The barrels for the thick, oily, robust bourbon are hand-selected from Dan & Donnis’ favorites that are set aside years in advance for additional age and maturation. The liquid they describe as “ambrosia” within is bottle straight at cask-strength, uncut and unfiltered.

Founder Dan Garrison explains,

“When we go select barrels for the  Cowboy Bourbon, what we’re looking for is rich, oily, thick, molasses-style bourbon whiskey and that’s what Cowboy’s all about.”

The Most Exclusive Bottle Of Texas Wheated Bourbon

On the distillery’s website, they provided some tasting notes for the $229.99 bottle, and with only 6,440 750 mL-sized bottles they go fast so this might be the closest you get to one!

“Inviting aromas of sweet pipe tobacco, full-grain leather and fresh-baked banana nut bread. Floral opening notes of wildflower honey and sparkling plum soda. Warm raspberry chocolate pie drizzled with whipped ganache. Chocolate-covered Luxardo cherries paired with fine armagnac for a dessert finish. A velvety-smooth, flawless sipper that packs plenty of 131.3-proof heat.”

According to Maxim, “Each bottle comes packaged in a custom-built solid wood gift box lined with a satin pillow and medallion emblazoned with the release year around the bottle’s neck.” It will be distributed to high end liquor stores nationwide, bars, restaurants and military bases in 42 states.

Todd, calls the Cowboy Bourbon,

“118 barrels meant to be enjoyed together.”

This latest release from the Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye, Texas is certain to become one of the great, rare bottles from an already rare variety that Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible named “American Micro Whiskey of the Year” in 2014 and again in 2017.
