Following their March 1st statement concerning their flavored cigar series, Munchies Rocky Road Cigars, Riste Ristevski’s Jas Sum Kral has just announced a new batch of Munchies “The Continental Breffus” that will be released as a store-only exclusive to Fat Ash Cigar Lounge, in Ashland, KY.

The initial Munchies announcement outlined Jas Amount Kral’s venture into flavored stogies:
Flavored or infused cigars are a big part of the cigar market, yet numerous connoisseurs of conventional cigars dislike them. And when you ask why, the response often comes down to the chemical taste of the sweetened wrapper and the overdose of flavoring, masking the bad quality of tobacco and the genuine tobacco taste.
Jas Amount Kral owner Riste Ristevski decided to deal with the problem. A premium handmade stogie with quality tobacco however with enhanced flavors. Tastes that do not subdue or mask the taste of great tobacco, and without the chemical taste of a sweetened wrapper.
The launch of the Munchies’ Rocky Roadway, caused a stir online, with allegations of irresponsible packaging which might be perceived as targeting children made by many in the industry possibly led by Charlie Minato’s Half Wheel editorial. “Products that can be construed as marketing to kids are going to make FDA’s next step far more vicious,” stated Minato.
He explained,
“You can understand how the FDA—already predisposed to not being friendly towards tobacco products—might not be willing to buy what the cigar industry is selling. Furthermore, you could understand how some pissed off vape companies might wonder why premium cigars are getting special treatment while vape companies get uniquely stricter rules because of allegations that they market to children.”
The controversy doesn’t seem to be slowing Ristevski and Jas Sum Kral down though with a full bore ad campaign rolling and even calling out Half Wheel’s criticism on Twitter.

This should come as little surprise from a Cigar maker who markets a medium-bodied Toro called the “F**k The FDA”
