It’s a tough decision these days between the flying car, super-yacht, or luxury submarine. If you’re in the market for an underwater sightseeing sub, look no further than the Nexus Series, recently released by U-Boat Worx.
A submarine of your own
The latest innovative vessel to hit the showrooms of luxury adult play-toys for the ultra-wealthy has been unveiled.
U-Boat Worx and their new “Nexus” line present a personal luxury submarine which can carry you and eight friends “up to 656ft (200 meters) underwater.” That means you can visit some of the deepest dive attractions like Bloody Bay Wall, in the Caymans.
Featuring “a huge egg-shaped observation window,” the revolving seats ensure all nine passengers get an incredible view. According to the engineers in the Netherlands who built it, you’ll get a sense of “otherworldliness” from the first-class performance and “signature revolving seating arrangement.”
The designers incorporate “a wealth of experience in commercial and private multi-passenger submarine operations” to offer a unique experience to those “who seek the most undisturbed view.”
Each of their various submarine designs feature 900-914 liters of interior space per adult. Seats can be placed “in various configurations, with a maximum of nine people.”
The 62kWh of battery power is rated for 18 hours of endurance. Cruising speed is about 3 knots.
High degree of flexibility
The pilot automatically gets a seat which is fixed and in the center of the submarine. On both sides of the pilot, “three full-size seats for adults are available.”
An alternative configuration rearranges things for “one pilot, six adults, and two children,” filling out the quota of nine passengers. That allows “a high degree of flexibility in your mission profile.”
Customers can rest assured that “no compromise will be made towards safety equipment, life support, or endurance and comfort.”
Because they were able to avoid using top or side-floaters on the exterior, the large egg-shaped window provides submarine passengers with “an immersive dive experience.”
One of the best features is that “all occupants benefit from a clear line of sight in all directions, at all times.” If some huge tentacled sea creature decides to get frisky, “the seats can then rotate to ensure all passengers get a good view.”
Their novel submarine design, they assure, “allows everyone to enjoy an unencumbered view and first-hand experience of deep exploration diving.” They also have a sportier 8 knot “super sub.“
