Salvaged Bourbon from Kentucky Tornadoes to be Auctioned for Relief Fund

Tornadoes

Bottles of bourbon which amazingly survived the devastating tornadoes that struck Mayfield, Kentucky were auctioned off for the benefit of the Western Kentucky Relief Fund. Press releases and WDRB reported, that the owners of Carr’s Steakhouse donated 14 bottles of bourbon which were recovered from the restaurant which was leveled in Mayfield. Mr. Daniel Carr, the owner, signed and dated every bottle for authenticity. The benefit was conducted over a six-day period ending on Tuesday, Dec. 21st, and raised $28,026. And while the beautiful bottles of bourbon are long gone, you can still donate to The Kentucky Bourbon Benefit by clicking HERE. The proceeds as of the WDRB story were about $1.7 million!

Amazingly according to bidpal.net “An auction of this magnitude normally takes six months to create and launch. This team has pulled it together in three days, and we appreciate your understanding and patience as we execute the Kentucky Bourbon Benefit to help rebuild Western Kentucky.”

“I’m just trying to do my part, help as many as possible, and this just seemed like a way to amplify the impact we could have on our community during this time of need,” Carr said.

“Especially this time of year, it’s Christmas, but I mean, it should be an every day thing. You know, it’s all about helping the people around you lifting them up when they’re down,” he said. “And I know that our city can overcome this and rebuild with this help.”

Mr. Carr’s steakhouse opened in 2011 was honored by the National Restaurant Association in 2016 with the “Restaurant Neighborhood Award” for their community service and philanthropy.
