If you are looking for a self sufficient facility in the heart of Lithuania for clandestine operations, the Lithuanian Government has a deal for you! They have just recently put on the market a CIA black site, dubbed “Detention Site Violet,” AKA “Project Number 2.” This was one place you did not want to be delivered to when it was operational.
What and Where?
In the forests of Lithuania near the capital of Vilnius, sits Detention Site Violet. This facility was used by the CIA between 2005 and 2007 to house and interrogate suspects in relation to 9/11 and Al-Qaeda. Most notable is the self proclaimed mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. As well, they utilized “enhanced interrogation techniques” on Abu Zubaydah, a suspected Al Qaeda recruiter. After the CIA left in 2007, the Lithuanian government used this black site as a training facility for their secret service.
Amenities Galore!
So what does this CIA built facility have that would make you want to buy it? Quite a lot actually. It is equipped with 10 window-less and sound-proof rooms. An electrical generator which seems much larger than is needed. It has it’s own water supply. There are seemingly miles of data cabling and wires from where the previous residents had all kinds of high tech and top secret gear plugged in. It is equipped with showering and bathroom facilities as well as a large steel barn. You know, for all of your vehicles, assault and day to day. Additionally, it is rumored to have 3-4 floors buried underground, but that has yet to be confirmed.
They Took the Fun Stuff
However, the spooks from the CIA took all of the gear and equipment they used for “enhanced interrogation techniques.” How unfortunate. So there is no “water boarding kit,” or “high heat stress inducing lamps,” to utilize for a good time. They also took the razors and shears they used to shave the incoming prisoners bare, with them. Bastards! There is quite a few locked doors however, but all of the dozen or so keys have been left behind thankfully. And no, the crates they delivered the prisoners in are also not included. The CIA took these “Boo boxes,” with them 15 years ago. Inconsiderate I’d say.
Asking Price?
The Lithuanian government has not announced a listing price yet. But from a “Texas Real Estate” standpoint, I’d say it would go for a couple million dollars or so. The land alone is tens of thousands in some parts of Texas. But this is Lithuania we’re talking about. Eastern Europe. I’d imagine the exchange rate would be in our favor and the price would be far less, especially if payed in American dollars. But would you want to buy it?
The Unknowns
We are only aware of 3 prisoners that where held there during it’s operation, but there could have been dozens. And of those unknowns, how many died during this enhanced interrogation? That is also unknown. You could literally do whatever you wanted in here, if you where a CIA operative with a prisoner in this facility. The practice of housing prisoners in interrogation facilities outside of US borders became common practice for terrorist suspects post 9/11. A practice that continues to this day.
Fit For A Crime Lord
For the wealthy history buffs and conspiracy theorists out there, this place is prime real estate. And for any Lithuanian crime family or other international well financed organization, this would be one hell of an acquisition. It’s like a modern day “Jabba’s Palace” if you think of it. I just wonder if we could fit a Rankor in the steel barn.
