Government Gives Away One Million Thai Weed Plants

Thanks to the government, they’re having a high time in Thailand. One million cannabis plants are being handed out, free for the asking, in June, to anyone interested in home cultivation. We here at WB strongly declare that other nations, especially this one, are encouraged to do the same.

Government approval ratings high

The government of Thailand is getting really high approval ratings from their citizens, mostly because of their recent decriminalization of marijuana.

To kick off the relaxed new views toward happy weed, Thailand’s public health minister announced they’ll “distribute 1 million of the plants when most legal restrictions on production and possession of the drug are lifted in June.

Thanks to government officials actually being reasonable for a change, “people would be able to grow as many cannabis plants as they like at their homes.” Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is all for it.

Back in February, he personally “signed a measure officially dropping cannabis, best known in the form of marijuana, from a list of controlled drugs.

They started backing off in 2018 by allowing regulated cannabis use but since then they decided to drop all the useless barricades. Government administrators are starting to get a glimpse of the piles of cash legal pot will bring into the treasury.

Thai officials hope that a major new cannabis industry will blossom, not only generating hundreds of millions of dollars directly each year, but also attracting foreign tourists.” Some of that unicorn Afghani Hindu Kush will bring them flocking.

No dabs allowed

Nobody is complaining about the compromise solution the Thai government offered. They won’t make any fuss at all if you possess and consume all the natural plant parts you desire, just stay away from the concentrates. “all parts of cannabis plants, including flowers and seeds, will be allowed.

However, “extracted content will remain illegal if it contains more than 0.2% of the psychoactive ingredient that produces a ‘high’ — tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC.

The days of applying for a government permit are over, Anutin declared. They want you to grow cannabis at home, “as long as it is declared to be for medicinal purposes and does not have THC content above the legal maximum.

They haven’t explained how that will actually be enforced, yet.

While they’re letting the masses grow and smoke all they want, the pros are getting even more government scrutiny than they did before.

Large-scale growing operations will still need permission from the country’s Food and Drug Administration to make cannabis products, which are seen as being used mainly for medicines and food additives.
