Playful Tricks and Treats For an Adult Halloween

Halloween

Along with that crisp snap of fall in the air come plans for Halloween. Whether they have children or not, adults were kids once themselves and many still love the tradition. Instead of going door-to-door for candy and goodies, adults have their fun with tricks and treats in the playroom, after all the kiddies are off the streets and safely in their beds.

Planning your Halloween party

For thousands of years, people have been having spooky fun at the end of October with a dark and sinister Halloween night frolic. All the ghosts and goblins come out of the dark and nothing is as it seems. Illusion is always the theme of the evening.

While the custom has evolved a lot, folks still love to go bump in the night with a good party. Some like to use the special occasion to get extra-naughty because it’s the best night of the year for that.

The first thing to consider are the invitations. They are more important than most people think because they “set the mood” long before the party starts. Whether your Halloween get together is lighthearted, spooky or sexy it’s essential to let your guests know “any special details that can help them prepare.

Things like whether costumes or clothing are required or optional. If you’re planning a Roman style orgy theme, folks are going to want to know ahead of time to get a toga instead of some other costume. Speaking of costumes, Yandy has an extensive selection.

Food is another big consideration. There should be lots of food, drink and assorted intoxicants as laws in your jurisdiction allow. Dry ice is great to throw in drinks and punch bowls, as long as you let people know to be careful with it. The food can get creatively disgusting. “Halloween is the one day of the year where unappetizing food is exciting. The possibilities for creating disturbing treats are endless.

Things like “ghost cookies, pigs in a blanket disguised as severed fingers, spaghetti and meatball brains.” Greetings Island recommends to “fill a cake with strawberry preserves so that it ‘bleeds’ when you cut into it.

Party fun and games

A must for every Halloween party is a punch made with something potent. Take it up a notch by using a cauldron as a punch bowl. “If you really want to freak your guests out, you could even buy a zombie hand that can hold the ladle for serving.” You can get molds to make eyeball or skull ice cubes.

You’ll want all sorts of libations on the bar as well. Don’t for get to set the right mood with lighting. Colored bulbs, candles and blacklight are great, so are strobes, just don’t put them on the stairs. Light around food and drink should be brighter so folks can see what they’re doing.

Decorations should be used freely in the party space starting with the entry way, so folks know this is where the party’s at. “Jack-o’-lanterns and friendly ghosts are more lighthearted Halloween characters. Zombies, witches, and vampires are much darker.

If you want to celebrate all the fun sides of fright night, “then it’s okay to mesh the cute with the frightening.” You also need theme music to suit the mood. That’s easy and free with YouTube, Spotify, or Pandora because they all have “curated Halloween playlists.”

As important as the decorations and music are the activities. You can fill goodie bags for each guest and hand them out when they arrive. Games are a great idea.

If you plan on playing erotic Jenga or naked Twister at your next Halloween party you will want to make sure things don’t get in full swing until later in the evening after people have some time to get friendly with each other.
