Smoking Hot Chick, 300 yard Trick Shot

Precision Rifle work is not my forte.  I am more of a tactical, CQB to medium range trained kinda guy.  So when I see a long range trick shot, accomplished by a dime piece, it definitely piques my interest.  The patience and control to precisely place a shot at insane ranges requires more art than science sometimes.  Especially when you are shooting a .22LR at an egg, at 300 yards, while standing, offhanded.  But trick shots is this hot chicks cup of tea.

Smoking Hot Marksmen Chick

Kirsten Joy Weiss is a long time marksman and trick shot extraordinaire.  Not to mention a beautiful woman to behold.  This lady stands apart from other marksmen as she is not ashamed to show the misses in her shots.  This female shooter thinks it’s important to show the perseverance and difficulty it takes to accomplish a difficult task.  She calls it a human element, and rightly so.  Definitely shows the right mindset for problem solving too.

The Shot

In this particular video, Kirsten takes on an extremely difficult shot, 300 yards with a .22LR at a 1 1/2 inch egg.  That’s half an MOA or “minute of angle.”  An MOA is the spread of a firearm at 100 yards.  1 MOA is 1/60th of a degree, or 1.047 inches.  That’s a small target and an accurate shot, to hit a one inch target at 100 yards.   But at 300 yards, this tiny target with this small caliber is roughly equivalent to shooting a .308 at 1000 yards, or a 1/2 MOA shot, roughly.  Still a tough shot to make, but doable.

Gear

To help with the shot the is using a fancy pants 22LR rifle that looks like something a competition shooter would use.  It’s called a Volquartsen and it is a heavy stainless steel beast.  Kirsten equipped it with an adjustable inferno stock and only a 2.5x -10x by 42mm Nightforce optic.  I would have gone with a 30x magnification optic myself, but 42mm oughta help, a bit.  She even mentions how the optic is probably under powered for this tiny shot.  And to round out the gear she is utilizing the Lapua Midas+ 22LR match grade ammunition.  Quality ammo for sure.

Complications

To make matters worse, she is doing this shot with an offhanded grip.  That means she will be holding the weapon in a non-traditional way.  More like a balancing act rather than a grip.  To start, she places the egg on the ground.  A small white egg on the ground.  Nestled a bit in the red dirt to hold it up, also minimizing the eggs profile even more.  Now the good thing is she sighted in the rifle and ammo at this range already.  So she knows that she will have to aim at the bottom of her MOA hash marks in her optic to compensate for the massive bullet drop at this extreme range for a .22LR round.  Even getting near the egg would be an accomplishment, especially utilizing an off hand grip.

As she sets up for the first attempt, she seems particularly nervous.  She rattles off a few last thoughts about the shot and then settles in for her first attempt.  She stands in a unique fashion, sideways to the firearm with her hips angled towards the target.  Kirsten also props the rifle up on her left hand with the left thumb supporting the trigger guard and the left hand fingers supporting the rifle.   The weight of the firearm seems to be distributed down towards that forward bent hip through her arm.  Right hand coming around the pistol-grip normally.  A funny looking stance for sure, especially on Kirsten’s thin frame.

Fire at Will, I mean the Egg!

Her first shot flies wide right, but she is still within an egg’s width from the target.  I can’t believe she was that close.  2nd shot, just barely missed, kicking up the dirt.  Kirsten fires 7 more shots, all just barely missing the target by no more than an inch or so for each.  On the 9th shot, she hits the dirt, just below the egg and the egg rolls out of position.  She checks out to see if she has a hit.  She drives her jeep all the way to the target, to see that no, she just moved the dirt below it.  After driving back and explaining, she psyches herself out to finally destroy that damn egg.

For the tenth shot, she lines up in her goofy stance, and obliterates that egg.  The round throws the top half of the shell off and the yellow innards splatter out across the dirt.  It was glorious.  Sweet victory for Kirsten Joy Weiss.  She jumps her fine ass into the jeep drives out to her murdered egg. Kirsten wraps up the video kneeling above her victim.  Hell of a shot for a hell of a lady.
