Butter Swim Biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 stick butter
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 4 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- In a medium sized bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- Add in buttermilk, mix thoroughly until a moist dough is formed.
- Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Pour it into an 8x8 or 9x9 baking dish (one that is deep enough to prevent the butter from spilling out after adding biscuit dough).
- Place the dough in the pan on top of the melted butter. Use a spatula to carefully spread it evenly across the pan until it touches the sides.
- Cut the dough into nine even-sized pieces.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
- Serve with jelly, jam, or just plain. Enjoy!
